Let the Games begin!

So today is the day of the London 2012 Olympic opening Ceremony. I have 2 little boys who have been waiting weeks for this day, excited is not the word! It’s been the summer of sport, with the Olympics just topping it off , lets hope this summer weather is here to stay for a bit longer. I took the boys this week into Cardiff to see the Olympic rings, I’m hoping to get them some football tickets for the Millennium Stadium too.

Celebrity Cruises has been lucky enough to secure the rights to show some of the games, for the enjoyment of their passengers.

Those who are travelling on board the selected Celebrity ships will be able to enjoy the opening ceremony today, the closing ceremony on August 12th and some of the games in between. On Celebrity ships sailing in North America, the events initially airing live also will be re-broadcast during more convenient times of day for guests to enjoy.

The most popular sports will be broadcasted ‘live’ via satellite, these include: swimming, diving, gymnastics, rowing, cycling, athletics, and the basketball events.

Celebrity’s guests will be able to view the Olympic Games within the comfort of their stylish staterooms and suites, or in several of the bars and lounges on every Celebrity ship (with the exception of Celebrity Xpedition, which sails year-round in the Galapagos Islands). The specific locations and event times will be listed within each Celebrity ship’s daily newsletter.

• Celebrity ships Millennium, Infinity and Century, Alaska

Although im not quite lucky enough to be on a Celebrity ship, im looking forward to this evenings opening ceremony and the games in the next couple of weeks.Were planning on staying up late tonight to watch, Im not sure how long the boys will last though. Hope you all enjoy them too!
