Christmas at Sea, do you fancy it?

Would you go away for Christmas? I’m trying to convince my wife!  My wife thinks its all about staying at home! My 2 boys are 7 and 9 and she worries about the children missing out on the Christmas experience. So I thought I would do this blog this week for her and any of my clients that have questions or queries about Santa finding you when on your Christmas cruise holiday!

If you have children or for those of us that are young at heart and do want the full Christmas experience but don’t want to stay at home, this is what I have found out about life on board at Christmas! Princess Cruises A Merry Christmas at Sea It’s not hard to get into the Christmas spirit right from the start, as ships are trimmed from stem to stern in festive holiday decor, complete with wreaths, holly, mistletoe and, of course, Christmas trees, which often even decorate the ship’s mast. It’s not uncommon to see Yuletide carolers strolling the decks singing favourite holiday tunes, or waiters wearing Santa hats. Seasonal entertainment abounds, as passengers may enjoy themed production shows, live music and films during the voyage. A special Christmas dinner features traditional favourites such as roast turkey or goose, and passengers will enjoy a range of seasonal sweet treats such as gingerbread, chocolate Yule logs and special Christmas cookies. With children out of school, Christmas cruises have become a popular getaway for families. And to keep younger passengers busy, there are a wide array of activities including parties, sing-a-longs and arts and crafts classes, where they can create ornaments to decorate the ship’s Christmas tree. Junior cruisers can also participate in a Christmas play, which they perform for passengers. On Christmas day, Santa Claus makes a surprise appearance, bringing gifts to each child on board.

Disney Cruise Line – You will find, family holiday crafts such as decorating stockings, building gingerbread houses, making holiday cards and creating holiday animation cells. Holiday storytellers sharing tales of Christmas, plus, a story just for Disney Cruise Line guests about the magical feeling of the holidays on a ship. And of course, traditional holiday feasts in the Disney Cruise Line themed dining rooms. Disney’s private island paradise is transformed with “snow” flurries, a Christmas tree and more. Be on the lookout for Mr. and Mrs. Snowman, dressed in their island attire. Plus, the island’s tram is decorated to resemble a reindeer, complete with antlers and a tail.

Well that’s only two Cruise Lines , but it’s fairly obvious to me we wouldn’t be missing anything and have everything to gain with going on a cruise at Christmas……..mmmm maybe next year!!

If you are thinking about Christmas you really do need to book early, so start planning for Christmas 2014!
