My day finding out if MSC are Magnifica!

I think in my job it is very important that I have first hand experience of all the cruise lines that we deal and am lucky enough now to have sailed on are at least seen for the day most of the major cruise lines. One that I sell an awful lot of but had not had the pleasure of seeing yet was MSC so last Saturday on my day off ( I must be mad or really love cruises ) I managed to get my self booked on to the MSC Magnifica for the day at my nearest port, The Port of Tyne.

My first impression of the ship was very good a very good looking ship not to big and not to small at 95,000 tonnes but certainly not massive by modern standards and one you could tell would be perfect for the sailing she has been doing this year out of Southampton.

The Magnifica on Arrival

Once on the Magnifica you start to get a feel of what MSC is all about with lovely Italian design and sparkle and bling never to far away. I’ve had lots of customer booked on her this year and can see why they have all commented on her being such a nice ship. The staff all seemed really happy and friendly and I was a little surprised to find English was the first language across the fleet especially as the are the largest cruise line in the Med with lots of guests from all the Mediterranean.

After a brief presentation on the brand and all the new ships that are coming you can see MSC are intent on becoming the largest cruise line in the word and will become more and more important to us UK guests. We then set off on our tour round the ship and again I have to say I was impressed. I loved the Indoor Pool area which I would of thought had plenty of use over the summer and I thought the sports bar was great and seemed like a good place for families to hang out and have a game of pool or catch up on all your sports.

The ship joined the fleet in 2010 and you could tell in parts she was just getting a tad tired but nothing you could really point out or complain about.

The small but lovely Atrium

Turtles and Toboggans and the Sports Bar

I loved the design on the rather exotic Tiger Bar

One of my late night Hangouts has to be the Casino

The Indoor Pool and surrounding Area was fab and even in a not so sonny Newcastle people were using and enjoying!

I’ve still got lots more to share so will do that on my next update but if you would like to know anything else in the meantime then please drop me a quick email at [email protected] or call me on 0330 303 8382
