Will P&O Britannia be the undoing of me?

Well my love of food and all things fattening has caught up with me again. I have had to bite the bullet and return to my local slimming club again. I’m pleased to say I’m off to a good start with a 4.5lb loss this week but next week is going to be a challenge as between now and next weigh in I have a weekend of celebrations for my Mom’s 80th birthday followed by the launch of P&O Britannia on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. This is going to test my metal I can tell you.
My usual start to any cruise or launch is dump luggage, run to buffet. I start as I mean to go on! It’s all about the food for me. I just love cruise ship food and as for willpower, I have none! I plough through every course of every meal with utter relish, and I never, ever skip a course, in fact if I can squeeze in extra courses I do.
I am doing the catering for my Mom’s surprise party on Saturday so again this is going to be a challenge for me. I have some of my favourite dishes planned too so I am going to be extra strict with myself. I will report back on the celebrations next week.

Staying on the subject of food, as well as touring as much of the ship as I can and taking lots of photos of carpets, I plan to thoroughly investigate the new cookery club on board and get the high down on the low down. You never know, I might trip over a celebrity chef in there. Fingers crossed it’s Marco! I do know that Mary Berry won’t be on board until 6th July when she will be doing cookery lessons throughout the 12 night ‘Around the British Isles’ cruise. I’m also going to try to get some close-ups of that fascinating ceiling display, or is it a chandelier, in the Atrium.

Rest assured whatever happens I will make time between meals to take plenty of photos to share with you on my return and as usual I will give you my frank and honest opinion too.
