The Secret Life of a Cruise Consultant…..

Rugby Groupie…….

Be it cold, wet, or windy, most Sunday mornings you can find me on the touch line watching my youngest, Tom, playing Rugby and cheering him on. He has played for Kings Norton Rhinos on and off for almost six seasons. Today we played in a tournament at Woodrush RFC against them and Burntwood. The result was, so I am instructed by one of the coaches – we won a ‘moral victory’ in the first game and were ‘admirably defeated’ in the second game.

If I’m honest, although Tom has played for so long, and my younger brother has played for over 35 years, I really don’t understand the game other than they run forwards and pass backwards, you have to put the ball down across the line to score a try and then kick it between the posts to convert it. I fee like I need to buy a book – Idiots Guide to Rugby or something along those lines. If anybody out there could explain the game to me in very simple terms I would be very grateful!

Much as I love going to watch him play, I do prefer the Cricket Season – the weather is so much warmer when I have to watch him play that!
