Take the River to the Garden…………

Garden cruises have always been popular with our clients over the years. They have attracted a band of loyal followers who have cruised on many of them and got to know one another really well whilst enjoying the cruise, the included excursions to some of the world’s most beautiful gardens, and the talks given by their ‘Garden Hosts’, well known faces from the TV including the rather dishy Mr Titchmarsh!

Most of our previous Garden Cruises have been on Fred Olsen ships but for 2016 we have something rather special on offer for Garden Cruisers, old and new – a Garden Cruise on a river, or to be more precise, on the beautiful waterways of Holland. Some of the World’s most beautiful gardens are to be found in Holland and in April each year the stunning gardens of Keukenhof are opened so that people can enjoy the stunning displays of Tulips amongst other flowers. Keukenhof is known as the ‘most beautiful Spring garden in the World’ and right on cue for our cruisers there will be 7 million bulbs in bloom with over 800 varieties of Tulips – how fantastic is that?!

Talk about planes, trains and automobiles – cruisers can chose to join the ship by coach (from a local pick up point), Eurostar or by flying. Prices are amazingly reasonable for a river cruises – starting from just £899 per person, especially when you consider that the ms Serenity is a 4* river ship. And the icing on the cake is that all drinks with meals are included free of charge.

Cruising from Amsterdam the first stop will be a Kinderdijk where there are 19 beautifully preserved windmills. They will then travel on to Dordeecht where they will enjoy a guided tour of the Appelturn gardens. Next stop is Brussels where one of the included tours will take cruisers to the Floralia at Chateau de Grand Bigard – 14 hectares of beautiful gardens! Nest stop is Antwerp, then Ghent and finally Rotterdam from where our group will travel to the beautiful Keukenhof.

This really is going to be a special river cruise enjoying the Netherlands and Belgium at the time of year when they are at their stunning best.
