Oh what a night!!

So last time I posted was about the surprise party I was heading off to, organised by P&O and Cunard cruises. Well, what a fabulous time we all had! They really do know how to throw a party, and travel agents themselves certainly know how to party!

As I suspected the main venue was West Midlands Safari Park, near Kidderminster in Worcestershire. We all met up, for a Champagne reception, at Severn Valley railway station in Kidderminster, this is where the old steam trains depart from and its a lovely old station. The weather could not have been better, a glorious Spring afternoon. From there we were taken to our mystery location to start the celebrations. We were heading to ‘the home of Phileas Fogg’, to be hosted by the man himself can you believe 🙂

Spring Grove, located at the Safari Park, was the venue and had been brilliantly transformed inside. We sauntered through the streets of Bombay, sampling local delicacies, New York, Hong Kong and San Francisco. We were privy to Mr Fogg’s Planning  Room full of maps and travel memorabilia.

After this we headed to the Basement for yummy Gin cocktails, games of Roulette and Snake Charming! We were then lead to the main event by a brass band, for dinner and dancing which was just fabulous. A real highlight of dinner was desert – the most enormous Eton Mess I have ever seen and a wall of ring doughnuts! Needless to say I was fairly close to the front of the queue for both! Well, it was a special treat!

The entertainment by the Cuban Brothers was brilliant, fantastic music and great comedy. I would definitely recommend them.

All in all it was a wonderful start to Spring and great to get together with so many other agents. I think we all deserved to have a splendid evening after the busy start we have had to 2019. It was certainly an evening that we will all remember for a long time! Huge thanks to P&O and Cunard!

For now, happy cruising!
