MSC……. M(ost) S(erious) C(ontender) – oh yes they are!

Oh I know that most of you still don’t seriously consider MSC when it comes to planning your annual cruise, or cruises if you’re lucky, and yes I do know that they have long been the Marmite cruise line but do you know what, you really should. Forget those preconceptions, forget what has gone before, forget what you’ve read about them, the harsh reviews, the cold food etc etc etc, for MSC are up there with the big guns, fighting their corner, delivering the goods – yes they really are, and in 2016 they are a serious contender, the ones to watch, and definitely the ones to cruise with.

If you want a stunning ship which offers a great on board experience with excellent food (oh yes it is!), at a price that won’t bust your budget then MSC may just be the cruise line for you, and there are quite a few more reasons why you should consider them too.

Did you know, I bet you didn’t, that in an industry first MSC changed their loyalty programme last year so that even guests who had not sailed with them before benefited? All you have to do is prove your membership level with another cruise line and MSC will bump you up to the equivalent level with themselves so that you reap the rewards from the off.

Never a cruise line to be slow off the mark, once the US embargo was lifted on Cuba, MSC decided to homeport not one but two of its ships in Havanna in 2016, I bet you’ve not cruised from there before have you?

MSC sports some of the most stunning cruise ships in the world, ships that really have the wow factor- you have to see them to believe them! And yes, I have seen them so I know what I’m talking about. I have cruised on three MSC ships which is why I am more than happy to recommend them. And they just keep them coming, there are currently four new MSC ships in the pipline. Each of them bigger, better and more stunning than the last.

MSC really are very family friendly and in addition to their fantastic kids clubs they have teamed up with Lego. Great news for the little people, I mean who doesn’t love Lego!

Food has always been a stumbling block for MSC, feedback never used to be great with much talk of cold food. Now I love my food and I can honestly say that I have never had any complaints when on board MSC. We just have to remember that Mediterannean people don’t each their food scorching hot like we Brit’s do but it definitely isn’t cold.

Added to all of the above is the fact that no other cruise lines prices comes close to those offered by MSC. They offer fantastic value for money along with flights from regional airports, another thing relatively new for MSC, Many of their 2016 cruises currently include an all-inclusive drinks package too, not just the selected drinks being offered by some of the other lines. As well as alcoholic drinks the MSC package includes speciality coffee’s and their fantastic Italian ice cream.

MSC really are a very forward thinking cruise line who deserve to be taken seriously. Rather than rest on their laurels like some other lines they are constantly striving to improve their guests cruise experience.

I wouldn’t stick my neck out if I didn’t have faith in them. You should try them.
