Cunard – The 3 Queens

The world is a beautiful place, and there is no better way to see it than from the deck of a Cunard ship.

Since its formation in 1840, travelling on Cunard’s iconic ships is an experience in itself. While the destinations they visit are truly spectacular, cruising on one of the three Queens brings another unforgettable dimension to your journey. These beautiful ships give you the opportunity to explore the finer things in life, whether it’s a good book, a fine wine, or exquisite musical performances.

Queen Victoria effortlessly blends all that’s great about the liners past – wood detailing and brass fixtures, for example – with modern comfort and luxury.

If you really want to spoil yourself the book one of the Grills suites, as they represent the very best of Cunard. Sumptuous furnishings, thoughtful service and space to relax create an atmosphere of indulgence and luxury. Around the ship, as a Grills guest, you will enjoy access to the exclusive Grills Lounge, Terrace and famed Grills restaurants.

There was a time when the only way to cross the Atlantic was on board a stately ocean liner. That time was more recent than you might think: April 2010, when the eruption on Iceland of a volcano with an unpronounceable name sent ash clouds billowing into the sky and brought the biggest shutdown in air traffic since the Second World War. For a while, the Queen Mary 2, flagship of the Cunard fleet, provided the only link between Britain and the United States, and the waiting list for crossings lengthened to more than 1,000 people.

On Thursday 23 June QM2 returned to Southampton, Remastered. Over the course of her refit, the interior and exterior of their flagship has been transformed.

Queen Elizabeth is the newest addition to the fleet, named in 2010 by Her Majesty the Queen. Recalling the rich heritage of the first Cunarder to bear the name, her elegance and modern features have won her many accolades and made her a firm favourite with her passengers.

On 25 May 2015, the three Cunard ocean liners – Queen Mary 2Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria – sailed up the Mersey into Liverpool to commemorate the 175th anniversary of Cunard. The ships performed manoeuvres, including 180-degree turns, as the Red Arrows performed a fly-past.

Embark on a very civilised adventure, and experience your ideal oasis of discovery, relaxation and sophistication.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the 3 Queens, have you sailed on them or are you planning to?
