Royal Caribbean Goes ‘All Hollywood!’

I dont know if you have ever watched the American TV series ‘Frasier’? starring Kelsey Grammer?  I must have watched every episode of this comedy spanning 10 years before it finished.   Its one of my favourite Box Sets, you know the ones, where you can watch them over and over again, and get just as much enjoyment as if it was the first viewing..   Another one is the Friends series. (My favourite character in that is Ross..)

Anyway, back to Frasier.  I watched a new film recently called ‘Like Father’ about  the relationship between a Father & his estranged daughter,  played by Kristen Bell who’s character, an advertising executive workaholic  was left at the altar.  She still ends up going on her honeymoon cruise but doesn’t expect to be dragging along her father who is played by Kelsey Grammer.

Whilst I was watching it, I thought ‘that ship looks familiar!’, and realised it was the Harmony of the Seas!  Well, my interest in the film tripled, as I saw them enjoying the facilities and activities on board!  They rode the Abyss, the Zip Line, Kelsey Grammer’s character had a go on the ‘Flow Rider’ Surf Simulator – with hilarious results!

They dined in the Alice In Wonderland Themed Speciality Restaurant, ‘Wonderland’  and (unsurprisingly) looked just as I remembered it!

It was great to see the ship again, and reminisce about my time spent on her on the  pre-inaugural sailing from Southampton in May 2016.  We were amongst a few hundred selected Agents, Press, and Promotional people for the first couple of days, exploring the 6,780 passenger capacity Oasis Class ship.  then we stayed on for the 4 night mini cruise to Rotterdam.

So the film Like Father was premiered on board all 4 Oasis Class ships,  Harmony, Symphony, Oasis & Allure of the Seas,  on 3rd August this year. It showcases all the features which Harmony of the Seas has on offer including the FlowRider, The Perfect Storm water slides, Rising Tide Bar  – loved this, one of my fave features on board! -and Royal Caribbean’s own private destination of Labadee, Haiti.

The Abyss – ! rode it 10 times!

I  enjoyed watching the film, and the scenes on board the Harmony and would thoroughly recommend it!
