BLOG WOMEN AT SEA

Have you heard the latest?  A Cruise Line has proudly announced its ‘New Women only cruise’   Whoever thought that this would be a good idea should have a serious talking to.  What was she (or he..) thinking? Seriously!

Imagine the outcry if a cruise line announced a Men Only cruise? Women, including myself would have plenty to say about it.   So why is a Women Only cruise marketed as a good idea?

I cant imagine it will take off, and what kind of women would it attract?  Hen parties? ‘Men Haters?’  oh dear….  and where’s the fun in a single sex cruise?  Its like being back at school – I went to both mixed sex schools and girls only schools,  and I know which one I prefer.       I speak from experience when I say if you get a large group of women together it really doesn’t bode well.   Us girls tend to travel in groups so the opportunity to socialise with other ‘tribes’ although in theory sounds good, in reality, can be fraught with problems .

Imagine being a single woman on board?  Where’s the fun in that?  And what kind of on board activities will this Woman Only cruise introduce?  Would it be a glorified Hen Party?  with special appearance by The Dream Boys?   Hang on!  I might be on to something here!

I’m sorry, but I can see no good coming out of this crazy idea!

So who is the cruise line?

Aqua Expeditions based in Peru are offering a 4 night itinerary starting on 20th March 2017 along the Amazon River.  A little worrying is on their website they boast of:

5-Star guest service: Our 1:1 staff to guest ratio says it all. Personalised service, 24-7.

personalised service eh?  the mind boggles…

Perhaps this is all a publicity stunt?  an attempt to raise the company’s profile?  What do you think?  I’d love to hear your thoughts on this news, from both sexes point of view.
