A Wedding At Sea – Pass The Hankies!

I recently had the pleasure of booking a cruise for some clients who had planned to get married on board.  As this was a first for me, as well as the happy couple, I thought I would give you an insight into what actually happens when you decide to marry on board a cruise ship. With permission from the Bride & Groom of course!

The marriage ceremony took  place on board P&O’s Arcadia, sailing from Southampton on 13th November,  visiting ports of call in Spain Italy & Morocco.  P&O offer a full wedding package, which takes care of all aspects of your special day, starting with your own personal onboard wedding co-ordinator who liaised with the happy couple to organise down to the smallest detail to ensure they had a day to remember and memories to last a lifetime!

The P&O Wedding Co-ordinators organise everything, down to the music to be played, including your own choice, or the reading of a piece of poetry, even free pressing of the bridal outfits! Taking the pressure and the stress away from the Bride & Groom, in order for them to prepare and enjoy the forthcoming nuptials.

When the happy couple stepped on board, a bottle of champagne and flowers were waiting for them in the cabin, together with a little gift from myself to begin the celebrations.   One just cannot have enough Champagne! The main event took place in a private venue, with fresh flowers, soft music and of course the Captain and his officers ready to conduct the service.  I would have loved to have been there myself to witness this beautiful event.  However Susan & Malcolm have kindly allowed me to show you some photos of their special day.
