Deal or no deal, that is the question!

It is the thing that’s splitting the nation, yet everyone comes together on one thing.  They’re board of hearing about it. Yes I am talking about Brexit.

You would think by now that it would all be sorted.

I know that there has been some confusion around lately with regards to what will happen with travel plans to Europe after the 29th March 2019, and speaking with some customers, there has been some scaremongering in the press as well.  So to help you out and reassure you I have put some information below from the ABTA website. (ABTA are the guys who govern us British travel agents and keep us in line and up to date with any information that we or you may need)

Flights will still operate after 29th March, even in a no deal situation.

‘Even if we are in a no-deal scenario, the European Commission has said that UK airlines will still be able to operate flights between the UK and the EU. The UK government has offered similar assurances for EU airlines.’ Taken from the ABTA website.

You won’t need a visa to travel to the EU after the 29th March as EU has stated that even if there is no deal they will not require British Citizens to need a visa for travel, as long as the UK government offer the same to EU citizens, which the government have confirmed.  Even if this is revoked, then the visa will be a simple process, like applying for a USA ESTA and should only cost around £6 and last 3 years.

ABTA have put some other points on their website as well, such as to make sure that you will have at least 6 months left on your passport at the time you will travel (standard) and to make sure you have fully comprehensive travel insurance.

If you want to check out there full advise, please see the below link.

If you are worried about your travel plans, then please keep your eye on the ABTA website as all the information you need will be here and updated if anything changes.

But my advice.  Keep Calm and Cruise On. (preferably with a gin in your hand)

Come the 1st April, we will be wondering what all the fuss was about.
