Shark Attacks in Sharm El Sheikh
I was very surprised to hear on the TV the other day about the shark attacks in Sharm El Sheikh. You just think of Sharm El Sheikh to be so safe for swimming and snorkelling. I was there in September and I think if I was due to travel now I would probably change my plans.
You don’t go to somewhere like Sharm El Sheikh not to dive or snorkel. Officials are baffled by the recent attacks and the environment ministry had caught and killed two sharks but they think they were the wrong sharks. What will this do to the tourism in Sharm El Sheikh? Lots of Holidaymakers escape the cold weather here to get a bit of winter sunshine. Would it make you think twice about travelling there? We don’t have many cruise lines that travel to Sharm El Sheikh but I have heard that snorkelling excursions have been suspended for the mean time if the ship is docked. I went snorkelling myself when I was in Sharm and you just don’t ever imagine something like that could happen.
