Oasis Makeover

Oasis of the Seas that was the first Oasis Class ship to join Royal Caribbean in 2008 is now set for a big makeover.  I can’t believe the ship will have been around for 10 years.  I can remember her launching and being the largest ship at the time.  My sister has had the pleasure as working in entertainment on this ship in the past and she loved it.  The ship will have its refurbishment in 63 days and will cost about $165 million.

Here are some of the changes that will take place

Dining – The Boardwalk will gain Playmakers sports bar and arcade which is a signature bar on independence of the seas.  Oasis of the Seas will feature the first Royal Caribbean barbecue venue Portside BBQ.  There will also be a complimentary mexican grab and go call El Loco Fresh.  Sugar Beach candy shop will be added to the Boardwalk and will have a walk up ice cream window.

Pool Deck – Guests will see the re-imagined Pool and sports zone gain the 10 storey Ultimate Abyss the talles dry slide at sea.  They will also have the Perfect Storm which is a trio of water slides.  For younger guests the Splashaway Bay will feature a splash pad for toddlers.  3 pint sized waterslides, water cannons, fountains, pools and twin drenching buckets.  The ship will still feature the twin Flowrider and zip line and rock climbing walls.  The pool area will have daybeds, hammocks and swing seats.  The adult only solarium will also be refreshed.

Nightlife – Spotlight Karaoke will be added where guests can be brave on the main stage or in a private room.  The Music Hall will be added and also the Bionic Bar.

She’ll go into dry-dock from 22nd September to 23rd November 2019.  The Oasis of the Seas will then set sail on November 24th 2019 from a brand new terminal in Miami.

I am sure these added extras will make the Oasis of the Seas even better than she is and will be great to see her after her makeover.
