The Norwegian Dawn which is one of NCL’s freestyle ships is currently undergoing a major refurbishment in dry dock in the Bahamas. The ship should re enter service on 27th May 11 in Boston which will be her seasonal homeport.
The Norwegian Dawn first entered service in late 2002 and holds over 2200 passengers. The Norwegian Dawn was the very first ship I had seen and been on after starting Cruise.co.uk. I was on the launch of her for an overnight stay and I must say I can really remember the ship well. I couldn’t get over the bright colours and the amount of bars and restaurants a ship could hold. This is nothing now to the size of some of the ships I have seen.

The Norwegian Dawn is the second of NCL’s ships scheduled for refurbishment this year and the Norwegian Spirit will follow later in the year.
NCL sound like they are really adding and improving to their ships and it will be interesting to see how the Norwegian Dawn looks after her refit.
