Am I really being treated like a past passenger?

Are past passengers perks really worth it I ask myself.  A lot of cruisers will experience lots of different cruise lines before maybe just sticking to one.  Therefore they will be a past passenger of more than one cruise line.  The past passenger benefits will obviously increase the more times you travel with the same cruise line.

Cunard offer a 5% past passenger discount to anyone who has done at least 1 cruise with them.  This is one of the better loyalty clubs.  The more you travel with them the more you will then receive onboard the ship as a perk, like priority boarding and priority luggage delivery etc.  You then have the likes of NCL who offer selected sailings at a special rate for their club the Latitudes.  They again have extra like a dedicated check in desk and other extra onboard.
P&O Cruises for their past passengers in the Portunus club offer a starter of 5% onboard discount.  The more cruises you take with them the higher the discount to 10%.  P&O also offer selected sailing where Portunus members receive a special price.

I personally think that Fred Olsen offer the best past passenger perks.  After cruising once with Fred Olsen you become a past passenger and receive an additional 5% discount at the time of booking.  You do have to book at least 6 months in advance to qualify for this.  They also offer a introduce a friend reward.  Once you reach their silver membership then you will also get 5% discount off onboard spend along with other little extras.  Hit their Gold membership and you also get 5% off your shore excursions if you pre book.
I feel that the cruise lines that offer you a discount at the time of booking are the better past passenger clubs as these then also give you extra benefits while onboard the ship.  The only thing you need to watch with the clubs is that they do expire if you have not travelled with them within normally 3 to 5 years.  This varies between cruise lines.  I do know though that Cunard will reinstate your membership if you can prove you travelled with them previously.
