Room Service …. Is this worth it?? ….

So…….. Room Service ….. Is this worth it on a cruise? ….. Do you use it? ….. Have you used it? ….. Would you use it? ….

In a hotel in the UK I love room service as often I find the hotel restaurant quite expensive and we often have dinner at lunchtime in and around the area we are staying in and then only need a snack in the evening, so after a pa trip it is very handy to not have to not go down to a meal, although on a cruise I am not so sure, I am 50/50.

Most cruise lines have over 10 different venues and delicious cuisines for dining from Asian Fusions, Steakhouses, Italian, Buffet Style, French and Pub Style atmospheres so is Room Service wasted or is it handy to have? …. Of course if it is a special occasion the delivery of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries of course are always more than welcome and some cabins come of course with that all important Butler Service but I am not sure about the delivery of food??

Is this handy when you are travelling as a family to have that option if the kids are playing up, or the little one will not settle and you feel like sitting in a restaurant is just not an option??

On some cruise lines this is offered from early morning for that breakfast in bed to late night snacks until 11pm such as P & O and even better than this most such as Celebrity, Carnival, Oceania, Princess and MSC to name a few offer this 24/7.  Of course for some of these you do need to pay a small charge unless you are staying in a particular cabin type but do you really need food at 3am??

What are your thoughts?  Is this something that can create a special and romantic atmosphere or something you would not even consider taking advantage of?
