P&O’s spring clean!

P&O cruises have announced that they are sending 3 ships in for a refurb beginning with the first ship in spring 2013.

The 3000 passenger Ventura which was launched in 2008 will be the first to have the refurb, and she will be docked in Germany for 13 days whilst the work is undertaken, the new features on board will be;

The fantastic ‘Glass House’ which has proved so popular on sister ship Azura will expand to the Ventura also,
18 singles cabins, which are definitely in demand
The spa area ‘the retreat’, which again has proved popular on the Azura
A dance floor in the atrium
Improved shopping facilities
Cabin refurbishment including carpets , curtains, cushions etc.

                                                                  Glass House on Azura

All of the above sound fantastic, having cruised on Azura the glass house will definitely make a difference offering customers somewhere sophisticated to have a glass of wine and tapas.

The 2000 passenger Oceana who launched in 2000 will follow in December 2013 and will include highlights such as;

Refurbishment to the oasis spa area, shops and ice cream parlour
Refreshed seating in the casino, le club and horizon grill
Enhanced top deck facilities to enhance deck entertainment
New Marco Pierre white menu
Significant cabin refurbishment

                                                                     Marco Pierre White

Then following on ready for her 2014 world cruise will be the adult on Arcadia holding 2000 passenegrs and launched in 2005, who will follow the Oceana and be in dry dock in December 2013, her updates are to include,

Additional single cabins
The Globe will replace Electra, the on board nightclub
Re fitting to the on board shops
Refurbishment of the crow’s nest and ocean grill
Extensive cabin updates

I think the multimillion pound refurbishment is a step in the right direction for P&O and will be greatly appreciated by their loyal customers
