Azura returns to the Caribbean

For the early months of 2013 the beautiful Azura was scheduled to take a World Cruise, due to be her maiden world cruise voyage. Since launching she would normally sail the Caribbean but P&O saw demand for an extra world cruise on their newest liner.

Unfortunately things didn’t go quite to plan, and P&O cancelled the Azura world cruise not too long ago. This was a  huge shame for passengers already book on her and looking forward to their world cruise, but as the demand wasn’t quite there as originally thought and of course they can’t send a world cruise with hardly any passengers on board. I’m sure P&O will have upset quite a few cruisers and may even get a few letters of complaint but the cruise liners can do this, written in there terms and conditions that they can cancel and change sailings!

Due to high demand they have now placed the Azura back in her home, where she is used to spending her winter days, Barbados in the Caribbean. I think this is a much better option, I have had many customers call asking for Caribbean cruises and wanting the Azura but only the Ventura had been placed in the Caribbean, until now. The Ventura is a lovely ship but shes a little more dated and traditional where as the Azura is more contemporary and has a complete different feel on board. I sailed on board the Azura in March 2011 from Barbados back to the Southampton and can happily say the Azura is one of my favourite ships and definitely my favourite by far in the P&O fleet, mainly because I prefer the more modern on board feel.

She will sail from Southampton to Barbados on the 10th January 2013 until mid-March 2013, circling the beautiful Caribbean. These cruises went on sale on the 29th February 2012 and have already been a hit with many customers wanting to take their winter cruise on board the Azura once again.
Will she ever set sail on a world cruise? Who knows. I’m not sure she was made to sail around the world, I think she is more of a Caribbean/Mediterranean girl myself! But only time will tell!

Were you due to sail on the now cancelled world cruise? Or are you a customer that is now pleased she is back in the Caribbean like me? Let me know your thoughts!
