Pirates at Sea

How would you feel, if you were on a ship and the threat of Pirates was announced?…………………

Guests on board the 104 day world cruise, that departed from Sydney, were stunned to learn that all the curtains must be drawn and shutters closed as the ship was was to be turned into a Ghost Ship.

A passenger said that the blackout occurred for ten days, as the ship sailed across the Indian Ocean, The Arabian Sea, the Gulf of Aden and the Suez Canal.

It must have been awful, No lights, not allowed to sit on your balconies. As the sun set, everything was turned off, so not to attract the presence of the cruise ship or any pirates that were thought to be around.

A media specialist on board who was a guest speaker on the vessel, said that the captain had announced that as well as a blackout from dusk til dawn, they would be having a compulsory pirate drill!!!! The captain even shamed some passengers as they would not take part in this compulsory drill, as they did not want to abandon their game of bridge.

As soon as the alarm sounded for the pirate drill, the crew had to move to their designated muster station. passengers were sent back to their cabins, so they could be counted. They were advised to sit on the floor and hang on to the hand rails, in case the ship had to turn quickly in the event of a Pirate.

This all sounds funny to read and very hard to believe, but it really did happen, these customers paid a lot of money for this world voyage and 10 days of being on shut down, must of been terrible.

How would you feel if this happened to you? Let me know your thoughts?
