Who Said Size Matters!

So as you know, I recently came back from my cruise around Dubai & The Emirates sailing on the Royal Caribbean, Vision of the seas. Now I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect as I normally cruise on much larger ships, however I must say once onboard I was quite taken aback at just how large the ship felt. The pool deck was a really lovely size, with two pools and two whirlpools as well as a Solarium with a further two whirlpools (Which was my fav area come the evenings to just unwind after a very hard day of drinking cocktails and sightseeing Lol).

Something else I was very impressed with on this ship was at just how clean and immaculate everywhere was. I know some of the older ships can sometimes look a little weathered /tired but I honestly, couldn’t fault this ship. My husband and I booked a large inside cabin which was really lovely. Lots of space and revamped with Royals Caribbean’s signature furnishings.

What I particularly liked about this ship was how beautiful the Atrium area was, being a smaller ship it had a great way of bringing people together to dance, listen to music and celebrate. We loved have an evening drink here each evening before heading off to either the Casino, Theatre, Pool deck etc

Now I am not sure about yourself, but I love to watch a good movie on a BIG screen and each evening their would be a great movie on which I couldn’t resist watching once or twice during my cruise. Their was such a fantastic atmosphere, and I used to get in the hot tub with my cocktail or two and enjoy a blockbuster! What a way to relax for an evening if maybe one night you want unwind and do nothing!

So I couldn’t resist to have a little flutter in the Casino Royale, To be honest I didn’t do too bad as I won 130 USD on-board on my 2nd Night in. That aside, I do love watching others play (however not when my numbers come in on Roulette and I am not playing) hahaha!

If you like to have a little boogie on the dance floor, then the Viking Crown lounge is the place to head to! Great music, and really beautifully decorated with a wonderful view overlooking the pool decks and ocean. We used to head up here most evenings and was one of my favorite location on the ship.

Ok so if I had to pick out one thing that I felt this ship could improve, then I would have to say the “Mytime Dining experience” Now we have always gone for Mytime dining because we like to be a little more flexibility, however each evening when we went to the “Aquarius Dining Room” to ask for a table of 4 we did struggle to get a seat, sometimes not being able to accommodate us which meant we would need to dine in the Windjammer Café instead. In all honestly this was never a huge concern for us as we were happy to dine in one of the many other restaurants onboard but if I had any recommendations when booking Mytime Dining, it would be to make sure you call the reservations team either the night before or the morning of and book a time and table size of your choose, so not to be disappointed!

All in all, would I travel back on the Vision of the seas again! ABSOLUTELY!
