What an incredible Captain

It’s not a subject often talked about but On our recent trip on Royal Caribbean’s Vision of The Seas around Dubai and the Emirates there was a customer that fell ill at Sea.

We were having a leisurely day at Sea whilst in transit between Oman and Dubai. The captain announced that the passenger is in his Doctors care and that he would require urgent surgery.

The Captain made the decision to turn the ship around and turn the engines on to full speed you could really notice the speed difference as we went as fast as possible towards Dubai.

We were all kept informed and there was a real sense of sincerity is voice you could tell he took the care of every one of his staff and passengers extremely seriously.

Unfortunately whilst we were enjoying a hot tub in The Solarium The Captain advised us all there the passenger did not make it back to Dubai with us and that it was with extreme regret that we had had a fatality on board.

His wife was on board and he confirmed that staff were doing all they could to console her through this very distressing time.

It made me feel extremely sad knowing I was on a ship with someone who had passed away. When we arrived in Abu Dhabi We were delayed getting off for more than an hour as the captain and officials from The port of Abu Dhabi assured full care and attention was given to the Deceased and his wife.

I sincerely wish the family well and hope that they take some comfort in the care they received on board and the well wishes of I’m sure every single passenger and crew on board.

It honestly made me feel humbled by the staffing on board the Royal Caribbean as In my opinion I do not feel they could have done any more for the family on such terrible circumstances.
