My experience onboard the Boudicca (Fred Olsen)

I have recently just come back from my 1st cruise.co.uk annual Christmas conference and I just had to share my experience with you.

The cruise conference was for 3 nights onboard the beautiful Boudicca (Fred Olsen) cruise line, Setting sail from Liverpool traveling to Dublin. 1st night onboard was a Party night, 80’s Fancy Dress (I went as Madonna). I honestly could not believe how fantastic everyone here at cruise.co.uk looked. We had people dressed as, Freddie Mercury, Prince Charles & Princess Diana (wedding dresses and all! Brilliant), 80’s Blue Shell suits…. the list just carries on. Such a fun & enjoyable night. The music was great and the Christmas & team spirit was just phenomenal, nothing like I had ever experienced ever before.

2nd Night we was at sea on our way to Dublin. This was a formal night where everyone was dressed in there best suits & beautiful dresses. There was a brilliant Magician onboard this evenings entertainment in the Neptune Lounge, along with disco in the Lido Lounge or if you were choosing to have a more mellow, chilled out drink before/after your evening meal then The Observatory bar where you could relax to the beautiful sound of the musician playing on the grand Piano. Honestly something for all onboard.

3rd Day we arrived into Dublin. It was my first time in Ireland and I was excited to see what this cities lasting impression would be for me. I have visited many different cities before so I kind of thought I knew what to expect but I honestly couldn’t be further from this. When we arrived my husband and I (who also works for cruise.co.uk) decided to get on a Hopper bus and go straight into the city center. We decided to have a walk around as much as we could by foot. I had been told from a friend once before that we must check out all the side streets too, as this is where you will find some of the most beautiful little quaint shops, bars and Restaurants, so that is exactly what we did. I have to say this was the best advise, as we came across so many lovely shops & pubs etc so would definitely recommend doing this if you are ever in Dublin.

We then decided to head towards Temple Bar Street which is where we were informed is amazing. We found a pub called “The Auld Dubiner”. All I can say is I have been to many pubs in my time but this pub is by far my favorite. They had live entertainment which was just brilliant. So uplifting, everyone dancing, singer at there top of there voices and just pure smiles all around. Just an incredible atmosphere. I can not wait to return and spend more time here.

So it was all aboard the ship to head back to Liverpool. What a brilliant 3 days we have had. Couldn’t have asked for more and definitely looking forward to next years work conference.

Merry Christmas to all
