I was fortunate enough last week to be asked to visit The MSC Splendida ship whilst in port in Southampton. It was a glorious Autumn day with perfect blue sky’s and was actually quite warm in the south coast.

In this blog, I am going to go over my favorite parts of the ship.

The moment I entered the ship I was overwhelmed at how grand the entrance was with two Swarovski crystal staircases encasing the vast three tier atrium. This must be one of the most expensive individual commissions at sea costing a wrapping 1.5 million per staircase.

We were taken through to all the fab bars and restaurants onboard but I must say my pick of the bunch was the purple bar. This is an informal cocktail bar that has live acoustic music located adjacent to the sports bar. It’s fun and vibrant and the lighting was sensational.

Now I don’t know about you but the very idea of an MSC cruise is oven about getting away from it all for 7 nights r &r there is literally no better place to fully relax than in the aurora spa of the outside solarium areas onboard.

The spa itself has a great entrance with soft chairs and merchandise such as makeup hair and beauty. There was tranquil music and the sound of water cascading as we walked through to the massage room. Off this space was a vast panoramic fully equipped gym looking out over the sea. (What a great place to work out)

I was really impressed with there being four large Jacuzzis in the Aqua Spa Solarium  with even more available out on the pool deck.

Whilst looking around the ship we entered the Bora Bora cafeteria where they were serving a wide variety of lunches to suit all tastes. With culinary dishes made by expert chefs from all over the world.
