The Delights of Miami

As a lot of you know I have just returned from our amazing Caribbean Adventure.

What a trip it was!

It was my first time in the Caribbean and also with an indirect flight ( With family) so there was a lot to deal with and pressure to make sure everyone had a great time.

Getting up in the middle of the night is always a stress for me but with the added stresses I carry from the events of 2017 I just didn’t sleep at all.

The first wobble came at the Virgin check in at Heathrow when we were told our ESTA visa’s were invalid and we couldn’t travel that day. You can imagine my reaction! Luckily the lady next to her realized it was just an update error and we were soon through security and heading to Duty Free.

We landed in just over 8 hours at Miami international after a really easy flight. We had arranged to spend 2 nights before the Cruise by Miami beach so I booked the Riu Plaza. I had previously used the Riu chain and found them a really good standard and everything we required from a short stay hotel. Their beachfront location meant we could explore the City as well as relax on the beach before we joined our Cruise.

The rooms were very spacious and clean with bright furnishings and a modern look. We had a family room with 2 Huge king size beds in.

There were plenty of open spaces to sit inside the hotel with a large Buffet area for Breakfast and Dinner. We arranged breakfast as part of the offer and it didn’t disappoint. A great selection on offer to suit most tastes.

We had the Hop on/off bus tour booked for the Friday and what a great value trip this was. ( About £30pp). There are two routes for the tour, a beach loop and then a city loop. Both loops were 90 minutes each so an ideal way to get yourselves around the ‘must see’ places.

We finished it off with lunch at Hard Rock before saying goodbye to Miami and head off to meet Seaside.

Next time I will tell you all about our lovely Seaside and our Caribbean adventure.

Until next time! x
