Marvellous MSC!

So, last week saw delivery of MSC Cruises new baby, Meraviglia. Named as the ‘8th Wonder of the World- ( Meraviglia meaning ‘Wonder’ in Italian)

I have experienced MSC myself a few years ago and was thoroughly impressed with the elegant style of their ships. So much so that my family and I will be sailing on their new Ship Seaside from Miami next year!

Meraviglia will have some game changing features on board

10 different types of cabins, 75% with balconies,55 have been designed to assist with passengers that have reduced mobility.

7 different areas for children including a technology lab and a TV studio for the first time on a MSC Cruises’ ship,  a new family buffet area, two full-size ten pin bowling lanes, flexible dining (new for MSC) alongside classic two-sittings each evening and Jean-Philippe Maury’s open-fronted chocolate shop and kitchen and chance to create your own chocolate bar on an ipad and watch it being made.

She will all feature the most poolside area ever featured on a ship over her 4 outdoor pools and 1 indoor pool.

Meraviglia is also its first ship to use wearable devices for activities such as cabin entry, making purchases, onboard organisation, digital wayfinding, giving parents the location of children on the ship and a virtual dressing room for trying on clothes before buying. We had an app on Carnival last year that enabled us to message our Children wherever they were on the ship. A real step forward in technology on board. MSC Me is a similar app and will be enabled on their new build ships too.

I have good friends on board in a couple of weeks who will be taking lots of pictures round the ship.
