Do you face forwards or backwards in bed?

Does it even bother you?

I had a very amusing conversation with a customer today whilst choosing his cabin number., i thought i just have to share it

Over the years I have requests for, ‘an odd/even number’ as they are superstitious or  their favorite number. I have even had, ‘ the one behind the bridge please, so I will be the first to hear the captain shout ‘Iceberg’ . Never before though has  a cabin been refused because the bed will be facing the wrong way!

I thought it highly amusing and so did the girl from Celebrity Cruise lines who was in fits of laughter at my request but said it wasn’t the first time she heard this. Really? I thought. It wouldn’t bother me. Mind you, I do tend to sit facing forwards on the bus or in the back of a black cab, and i definitely would sit facing forward doing a longer journey on a train as I start to feel sick. So maybe it isn’t such a daft request as i first thought.Maybe there are plenty of people out there who choose a particular cabin based on bed position.

So remember when booking your next cruise that not all beds face the same way. On many ships, the positioning alternates between cabins or from side to side. Beds can be aft-facing, forward- facingand even port or starboard- facing!
