Mini Cruises – Taster Cruise or Party Cruise???

Mini cruises, typically 2-3 nights are becoming increasingly popular and most cruise lines put on three to four or even more of these each year, starting at less than £200 per person. So who would these appeal to?

First time cruisers that want to ‘dip their toe’ into cruising as they don’t know if they will like it or might be sea sick. Does a mini cruise give a fair impression of a longer cruise or more likely to put them off? I’m talking about ex UK now, so you are not going very far in that short time, maybe Belgium, Northern France, Amsterdam, maybe just one port and a day at sea, which could be rough, and the weather may not be great. I am quite sceptical about recommending these to prospective cruisers as I don’t think they represent what real cruises offer.

Someone who has always wanted to go on a cruise liner, but cannot afford a longer cruise, great opportunity for many people.

Hens and stags are increasingly booking mini cruises for their last fling before getting hitched and they are a great value option, with all meals, entertainment and travel between ports included and no hassle with airports, just get on the ship, unpack and get down to partying. Also family groups celebrating a special birthday maybe or a couple celebrating an anniversary.

City break fans who just want to see maybe more than one city in a much more relaxed way, or maybe shop the Christmas Markets.

We at Cruise Co have our annual conference on a mini cruise, so great for work get togethers too.

Whatever your reason for booking a short cruise, you are getting great value with comfortable accommodation, plenty of delicious food, fabulous choice of entertainment and depending on the size and nature of the ship, lots of activities and fun for all ages.

So what are you waiting for? It’s time to treat yourself.
