P&O Or Royal Caribbean???

So with this weeks blog I wanted to have a vote on which cruise liner people prefer. I will look at the best and worst bits of both cruise liners and I will give you my reasonings at the end. I then want to hear your reasons and why. I have been with both companies and don’t really have complaints about either, but which one is my choice. Lets take a look.

Food. I would like to start with whats closest to my heart, food glorious food. I must admit I was slightly disappointed with the food on the Ventura last year. I did only eat in the main dining hall and didn’t have have the specialty dining however I felt like the food was lacking something. The food with Royal Caribbean was great I don’t really have a bad word to say about this. Always plenty of choice. I would also Recommend the Windjammer buffet restaurant I have a lot of regular customer that will go here over the main dining hall. Overall Royal Caribbean wins. 1-0 Royal

Drinks. With both cruise liners drinks are additional. Royal do offer a drinks package that you can add on before. The package for Royal is roughly $55pp per night. This is quite steep compared to P&O. So if you like your drinks but don’t want to pay the earth P&O Is a better choice. 1-1.

Entertainment. On both both Ships the entertainment is good. On some of the bigger royal Caribbean ships they have the ice rinks so as well as the theatre shows there is ice shows. As well as this they also offer Broadway shows included Greece and cats to name a few. I would still go and see a show with P&O and would enjoy it however Royal wins. 2-1

Cost. I think for a like cruise going on the same day doing the same itinerary , P&O would win this in terms of cost to book and cost onboard for anything additional that you have to pay for. 2-2

Conclusion. These are just a few of the things that you can compare with each ship. For instance P&O is more formal so this may suit you better whee as Royal Caribbean will have more to keep the whole family entertained. If I had to choose one I would have to go for Royal Caribbean. I think yes you are paying a bit extra but it is worth it for me. I think the standard is higher the food is better and the entertainment is second to none. Nothing against P&O as I know there are a lot of fans out there. This is my preference. Final score 3-2 royal wins.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this and why you would choose one cruise over the other.
