My first Family holiday. (I need your help)

I have been booking peoples holidays for 13 years and have never had a problem recommending destinations to go far and wide. Something I am finding more difficult is deciding where to go on my own holiday. Again in the past this has been done without breaking a sweat. This time it is different. I will be taking my 8 month old baby!!!!!

I have been on a cruise the last few years in a row so this year I want to try something different.

So Guys and Girls I need some advice. Where do I go? what do I pack? where do i fly from? What time of year?

These are just a few of the questions I am procrastinating over.

What I am thinking is I dont want to travel too far. As its teddys first flight if he decides to scream the whole way. (Which he often does) It wont be long before I can get off again. I live in Southampton so thinking a flight from Southampton airport will be ideal. I know this will restrict me to the destinations I go and also know I will pay a premium. (Probably worth it) I went to Majorca a few years ago from Southampton and between leaving my house and arriving in the Majorca hotel it took 4 hours. I have never been to mainland spain. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

My next issue is the temperature. I dont want it too hot for teddy, but also dont want to feel like im still in the Uk. Maybe 20-25 degrees would be ideal.

The biggest dilemma I have of all is…… Do I take a rubber ring or shal I just hold him while I am in the pool.

There are many other things im sure that I need to think about im sure. Thats why I need your help. Has anyone been long haul with a child under 1? What are your thoughts on airports and Temperatures. Do I need to bring a separate pram in case our posh one gets damaged on the plane??
