Big Sam to save sinking ship

Okay so this next blog isn’t about cruising. It is about another thing that im passionate about. That is Football.

Its official Big Sam Allardyce has been given the huge task of returning the England national football team to its glory days.

1 world cup in over 100 years isnt good enough. 1 world cup in 1966 and since then we have got worse.

We have had the managers with legendary status. Don Revie and Bobby Robson to name a few.

Its not as though we haven’t had the players either. Beckham, Rooney Owen. Not that im biased towards United in any way.

So where are we going wrong?

The foreign players playing in the premier League? The English players just in it for the money? The youth training system. It cant be any of these. Yes there are foreign players, however there is enough English talent to beat a team like iceland with a population or 333000 people. Yes the English players get paid a lot but they must still want to win. Finally are youth training system. The same youths that played for the Wales team that got to the Semi finals.

Me personally think its down to the FA’s appointments. Graham the turnip Taylor, The wolly with the brolly Steve Mclaren and most recently Woy Hodgson. He was way out of his depth. If England were a cruise ship then Woy would be about as much help as lifeboat with a hole in it.

That Brings me on to Sam Allardyce. With a cv of Bolton Newcastle and West ham, and a manager to have never won a major trophy. He isn’t exactly the man the springs to mind. A man Known for his boring long ball football. I suppose now at least Jermaine Defoe Andy Carol and Mark Noble will get a look in. Oh Joy.

I can only hope im wrong. I guess only time will tell.
