Can you be a slinky slimmer at Sea?

This the time of year again where we all start to evaluate our lives, health, fitness, habits etc and get out the old note book and start making those New Year Resolutions that we promise ourselves this year will be the year we stick to them.

One of my main resolutions is to start eating healthy which will hopefully lead me to losing some of those Christmas lbs!

So last week saw me sign up to a local slimming class. I wanted to go to get some great ideas of what foods to eat and really to get the motivation to keep me on track.

Almost everyone at the class were talking about how they were there to help them achieve their weight goal or fitness programme to get them in shape for their summer holidays.

It got me thinking about what then? What if your holiday or cruise is mid way through your fitness and slimming journey? Do you pack it in for the duration and then struggle to get back on plan once you are home or can you stay on track with healthy and tasty food choices whilst on board.

More and more dining options are becoming healthy and fat free on board. I challenge anyone to struggle to find something slimming friendly when cruising – whether or not you want to eat it is the question lol

When I was on Independence of the Seas in September I actually found the choices in the Windjammer Buffet restaurant to be the best that I have had on a Royal Caribbean ship to date. The morning omelette man was a favourite of mine and it was great to be able to put in your order and then have a nosy around at the other breakfast options and then call back about 5 mins later to collect your omelette.

Lunch and dinner time in there also fielded numerous salad, vegetable, prime meat options even going as far as sugar free dessert offerings – who could say no!

Combining that with the free Gym on board and the morning fitness classes at the pool there is no reason not to keep up with any of those positive New Years Resolutions.

BUT do you want to? Do you just want to get on board and forget all about being healthy and just get stuck in to everything you want to guilt free? After all holidays are meant to be for treating yourself.

I would love to know your thoughts x
