Shipfaced at sea!

Photo: Having alcohol on your cruise ship is like having a captain… important. According to a recent study, you agree. It seems that once our ship mates ship off, they get ship faced.

We’ve all done it, had a few to many drinks whilst on-board a cruise, well most of us anyway. But the above statistics taken from a cruise survey that customers completed show that we are all at it.

I have been on a few cruise’s now where my bar bill has reached anywhere between $1000 – $1200 and I’m not what you would class as a big drinker. It just goes to prove how expensive some drinks are on-board cruise lines.

Bearing this in mind as we start to cruise more often, are we putting ourselves at risk with alcohol poisoning or even failing safety protocols put in place to protect us. In the last few months we have seen several incidents of customers falling over board, not that this has been proven to have been alcohol related. However it does make me wonder with all the free drinks promotions that are in place with certain cruise lines that its an accident waiting to happen.

What are you thoughts?
