They came, they saw and they conquered and Liverpool loved it

I said on my last blog that the Giants were coming to Liverpool and I would take some photos and video.
Here a few of the photos of the days that they were here, I have lots more on my facebook page if you want to have a look.

liverpool came to a standstill for the last ever visit and as expected there were surprises appearing all over the place.

There was a bus cut in 2 by a giant knife and a car with a giant fork through its roof and all this before a single giant had been spotted, the city was starting to buzz.

The one thing I love about the city is everybody comes together and joins in, young and old alike, we all knew it was going to be special as it was the last visit and the creator is retiring his giants so everyone wanted to see them.
The local newspaper published the routes and we were told there would be a new giant on the scene which was a boy, most people were more happy about the fact Xolo the dog was going to be around, he is the funniest puppet ever and climbs on top of things, of course, you get caught up in the atmosphere and almost forget that there is a string of people working them.

On my video, I laughed when I heard myself say Oh look he saw a real dog, it is so easy to get caught up in the magic

Xolo was spotted running around with a motorcycle helmet in his mouth in one scene and in another he had a string of sausages in his mouth, it is all very clever and the looks on the kid’s faces was just amazing.
The happiness around on the few days they were here was contagious.
Liverpool is a busy port at the best of times but could you imagine sailing in and seeing 50ft giants marching around in front of you, what a shock as well as a sight that would be from the river.
I know my news on Facebook has all been about the giants but they really do have to be seen to be believed.

If you want to see the naughty Xolo I have added some video I took and added it on facebook so everyone can see.

I hear the Royal De Luxe is starting on a new project which will bring to life a giant silverback gorilla, now that is something that I would like to see walking around the streets, we have already had a 50ft tarantula that sprayed venom (water) over everyone so I dread to think what the gorilla would spray if what they do in real life is anything to go by.

Watch this space as they say
