Quantum of the Seas- So much to do, so little time!

Last week I received the fantastic news that I had been selected to spend 2 nights on the amazing Quantum of the Seas at the end of next month prior to her inaugural sailing. To say I am excited about being one of the first to see first hand what the ship has to offer is a huge understatement!

But here is my quandary…there are so many new innovations to experience on the ship that I’m going to have to prioritise what I can fit in to 2 days.

First of all I REALLY want to experience the Ripcord skydiving simulator. Just to try this exhilarating activity would be fantastic, but to do it at sea on a mega-ship makes it even more thrilling.

Sampling the North Star, with a birds eye view 300 feet above sea level (the equivalent height of the Statue of Liberty) is an absolute must, as is a little trip down memory lane with a ride on the dodgems. Will I have time to visit the beautiful Vitality spa to get myself pampered ready for the evenings activities?

As well as a full production of Mama Mia which will be showing on Quantum of the Seas, entertainment is also provided in Two70-a beautiful light & airy lounge/cafe by day with floor to ceiling views of the ocean. At night it transforms in to an entertainment venue with yet more new technology, Vistarama.  Two70’s floor-to-ceiling sea view is transformed into any scene, real or imagined. 18 projectors combine to create a surface over 100 feet wide and over 20 feet tall.  Across this vast expanse, digital shows come to life. This is not just a first at sea – it’s a first on the planet!

The entertainment on the Quantum class ships is certainly a game-changer with the 3D robo-screens that descend on robotic arms to give a full 3D experience to enhance the performance of the live artistes who will be singing & dancing in front of the hi-tech screens. I can’t wait to see all this in action.

Of course I want to be one of the first to order a cocktail on a tablet at the Bionic bar & have it mixed by a real robot. Well who wouldn’t?

Watching a movie under the stars on deck sounds amazing, but that’s a couple of hours out of my precious time when I could be roller skating or having a flutter in the casino.

And then there’s the food……

Where do I start? I’d like to dine in the opulence of The Grande restaurant with its luxurious decor & sumptuous menu. I definitely don’t want to miss out on a trip to Wonderland, with its food that teases all your senses & blows your mind with it’s ultra-modern, creative dishes. I’m a big fan of Asian food, so do you think I could get away with having 2 dinners in one night & trying the Silk restaurant too?

Decisions decisions!

I think I will need to get a strict itinerary put together as although the things I’ve mentioned are at the top of my list, there’s so much more I’d like to do & see.

What would be at the top of your list? Leave a comment.
