Barcelona

I thought I would write a little blog on Barcelona and how easy it is to join a ship from there.

We arrived into Barcelona airport and headed outside to the bus stop and jumped on the local airport bus which only had 4 stops. We got off at the last stop Plaza Catalunya just at the top of Las Ramblas.

I cruised on the NCL Jade from Barcelona and spent a couple of nights before joining the ship in Barcelona. I loved the place. We stayed in the Barcelo Ravel hotel which was just a few minutes walk from Las Ramblas, the main shopping area. The hotel was fantastic and very modern with great views from the rooftop terrace and swimming pool.

When in Barcelona we went on the local open top bus sightseeing tour. This was ideal for us as we only had one full day in Barcelona. We stopped off at the Picasso museum & Sagrada Famillia and not forgetting the Nou Camp for my football daft other half! My favourite area in Barcelona was the gothic quarter with the little cobbled streets and boutique shops.

To get to the ship from Las Ramblas was really easy. We took a short stroll to the bottom of Las Ramblas and the Barcelona port authority put on a shuttle bus from there to the ship which cost around 3 euros each.

The check in at Barcelona port was really smooth and nice and quick. We were on board for lunch.
