Feeling the Luxury with Royal Caribbean!!

Club Royal Certainly treated us to Luxury in Dubai!! Back in January, Royal Caribbean ran an incentive for 15 travel agents to win an all-expenses luxury trip to Dubai. I was one of the top 15 over the 6 week period and I was so excited when I found out. I had been to Dubai briefly before but I would never have been able to experience Dubai as I did with Royal Caribbean. It was an amazing 5 days.

We all met at the airport at around 5pm. We then checked in for our flights and headed to the Emirates Lounge. The Emirates Lounge would usually cost around £93pp and it was definitely a great way to start the trip. We all had a snack and a little drink before boarding at our gate from the lounge. The plane journey was lovely as it always is onboard Emirates.

We arrived early in the morning and headed to the amazing 5* Atlantis the Palm Resort and we headed straight for breakfast. The number of different food options available in the Kaleidoscope Restaurant was crazy, you could even have sweets and fruit dipped in chocolate from the chocolate fountain.

After we checked in we all headed to the Aquaventure Waterpark in which we had a VIP area near the top entrance of the lazy river. The lazy river though was not so lazy as it had amazing rapids throughout. During our time in the waterpark, we each set off in small groups to the Lost Chamber which is where we did the Aquatrek.

After getting dressed up, we had a short hotel tour before heading to Nobu for dinner.

Today we had an amazing day at Nasimi Beach, we had private cabanas on the beach and we all felt like royalty. We sampled sangria ice pops and had an amazing buffet set out for us for lunch. I said to my colleague Carl that ‘this sort of day just makes me really grateful that I am a travel agent’. It truly was a fantastic chilled day, I even got a great tan too.

At 6-7pm we all met on the terrace for drinks before heading to At.Mosphere which is a fabulous restaurant on the 122nd floor of the Burj Khalifa. The view of Dubai at night was great from up there, my ears definitely popped on the way up in the lift though. The food was great and it was a lovely evening with everyone.

After breakfast, we headed into the city for our Dhow Cruise experience. It was absolutely boiling so it was nice to be out on the river. We got some great pictures of the Dubai skyline.

After the Dhow Cruise, we headed to the Mall of the Emirates for a spot of shopping. I had been there before but it’s a great mall. There is even a ski resort inside the mall called Ski Dubai. Definitely, something to see whilst you’re there.

Dune Bashing; this was one of my favourite parts of the trip. It was an incredible afternoon and evening. Our driver was fantastic, he played fun music the whole way and on the dunes, it was so exciting. The Dune bashing was so fun and very bumpy. After that, we headed to a camp in the middle of the desert. It was such a cool area, we had a nice BBQ buffet style meal, sat on cushions around low tables and watched a belly dancer. I even got a henna tattoo whilst I was there. Before heading back, they turned off all of the lights so that we could star gaze.

Once we got back to the hotel, we all headed to Wavehouse which is an entertainment venue. We all played against each other in a game of bowling. I came second in my team which I was still happy about. We also had some time playing in the arcades.

In the morning, we all headed out for a Dubai City Tour. We visited the Sheik’s palace, well the outside of it. You can see me below in front of his car. We also headed to the souks and did a spot of shopping. I managed to get some right bargains for friends and family at home. I, of course, got some little treats for myself. We even had a little boat trip thrown in.

For the afternoon, we headed to Port Rashid to board Spectrum of the Seas. I had previously only seen Legend of the Seas and Independence of the Seas so Spectrum was certainly different in comparison. I love doing ship visits as it’s a good way to see the whole ship and see what it has to offer. I got some great photos from around the ship and we even got to go to have dinner together in Chops Grille. The food was delicious and it had such a great atmosphere.

We were all sad to be leaving, but we headed for breakfast before getting our transfer to the airport. We had found out that Emirates had upgraded us all to Business Class and we couldn’t believe it. It was a great flight home and we even had a drink at the bar onboard. It was the perfect end to a perfect trip.
