Changes for Dining and Drink’s with Royal Caribbean

As many of you may be aware when Royal Caribbean launched their Quantum Class Ships they introduced a new dining concept, Dynamic Dining. This had a lot of mixed reactions as people wondered how it would work. The concept of rotating around various restaurants each night and the waiters going with you seemed like a great idea, but did it work? I experienced it myself earlier this year while on a mini cruise on Ovation of the Seas from Southampton and to be honest it wasn’t great. I was unable to book the restaurants I wanted before I went and we were allocated them once we were on board. As it was only a 3 night cruise we weren’t overly bothered where we ate as long as we were offered Grande, the main dining room for the formal night, which we were. The other 2 nights we enjoyed the food but the restaurants we were allocated wouldn’t have been our choice.IMG_3808

So it looks like Royal Caribbean has listened to their passengers and has decided to end this dining experience. Ovation of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas will no longer have Dynamic Dining on the ships from 23rd November and 27th November respectively. The same Menu will be available in all 4 restaurants, Chic, American Icon, Grande and Silk. American Icon and Silk will be used for the My Time Flexible Dining and Chic and Grande will be used for Early or Late Dining.

Not only have they decided to change the dining experience but they have also had an overhaul of the Beverage Package’s. From 6th September this year new drinks packages have been introduced.

The Deluxe package which was previously the Ultimate Package is available from $65.00 per person per day and includes the on board tax. This includes any individual beverage item up to $12 (retail value) available on board, choosing from all cocktails, spirits, liqueurs, wines, beer, soda beverages, bottled water, fresh squeezed juices, mocktails, premium coffee and premium tea.

The Refreshment Package which was previously the Royal Replenish package is available from $30.00 per person per day and includes on board tax. This includes  Premium coffee and premium tea,  Bottled water (sparkling and still)  Fresh squeezed juices ,Non-alcoholic cocktails, All fountain soda beverages .

Classic Soda Package which was previously the Royal Refreshment Package is available from $10.00 per person per day and includes on board tax. This includes all fountain soda beverages. This one is great for the Children as they can fill their Souvenir Cup as and when they like .

And for those who are Tea (or Coffee) Total a Café Select Coffee card can be purchased from $36.00 which entitles you to 15 speciality hot drinks from a choice of Teas and Coffees.

Selected sailings for 2017 cruises have the Deluxe Package included in the cost of the Cruise so now there is no better time to book and not have to worry how much you are spending on-board on drinks!
