Not long now……….

On Wednesday 3rd October I will be off on my holidays to Tenerife. My husband and I will be staying with friends and their gorgeous twin girls for 11 days and hopefully there will be plenty of much needed sunshine. Tenerife is one of my favorite places to visit with sunshine almost guaranteed all year round. The Canaries is also a popular cruise destination with cruiselines including P&O, Cunard and Fred Olsen to mention a few, sailing to the Canaries from the UK every year.

Ports of call include Tenerife, La Palma, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote and Fred Olsen also includes the smaller and lesser known islands of La Gomera and El Hierro A couple of years ago I was lucky enough to get to spend 2 days on La Gomera while I was visiting Tenerife. The ferry crossing from Tenerife only takes an hour and this service is also used by the workforce who travel to Tenerife every day to work.

An alternative to sailing from the UK is to fly to Tenerife and embark a cruise there. Thomson and Island cruises sail from Santa Cruz with weekly departures during the year. In 2013 Fred Olsen will also have departures from Tenerife on Braemar with departures from January to March.
