I’m on the Edge!

Celebrity Cruises the has recently put Cruises on sale for there newest and most innovative ship yet. Celebrity is currently being built and will sail Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries from December 2018. Being someone who loves cruising and loves new ships I couldn’t resist booking a week on this amazing ship. Although this isn’t until April 2019 I’m sure it will be here before I know it.

I have booked an Infinite Balcony, a first of its kind at Sea, and you may think, what’s that? This means that with a push of a button the Stateroom and the Balcony will become one space. The Stateroom has Glass folding doors that fold back completely and the full glass fronted balcony which looks like a full window will slide down to make the balcony front. This means the whole living space becomes the balcony.

Another feature of these amazing staterooms is the fact that they will be 23% larger than other Solstice class ships even though the ship is going to be smaller in passenger capacity than Eclipse for instance. Everything in the stateroom will controlled by a touch screen from the curtains to the lighting and temperature control.

Not only will the Standard Balcony Staterooms have these amazing Infinite Balconies but the Concierge and Aqua Class will have too, and for Single Passengers there will be Single Edge infinite Balconies.

Families travelling on cruises can sometime pose a problem when it is a  large family travelling together but there will be more choice on this ship. There will be 174 interconnecting cabins in different combinations and any standard cabin that connect with a Suite will be able to benefit from the Suite amenities which is great news.

Along with the new amazing cabins I think the thing that I am most excited about is the Magic Carpet. This is a cantilevered floating platform that will rise up and down on the outside of the ship. This will be a multi purpose feature that will serve as a floating restaurant and a luxury platform for people to disembark the ship. This can be placed in 4 different positions including right at the top of the ship actually above the deck. On Deck 14 it will be an extension of the pool area where you will able to see live music and on Deck 5 it will become and Al Fresco Dining Area and then last but not least when on Deck 2 this is when it becomes the disembarkation platform.

Just the Staterooms  alone and the Magic Carpet will be 2 new innovations never seen at sea before and I cant wait to see what else this amazing ship will have to offer once I am on-board. Only 25 months to go and counting!
