Busy,Busy, Busy

Well I have been out of blogland for a few weeks as there was a gremlin in my computer but everything is back to normal now. The last time that I blogged I was off to Tenerife for 11 days and what a wonderful time I had. My husband and I spent our time chilling and relaxing with our lovely friends and their adorable twin daughters. I may use the term “relaxing” loosely as with 7 month old twins you need eyes in the back of your head but we loved every minute of it. The weather was exceptionally hot for October with temperatures still in the high 20’s in the evening so as you can imagine coming back to “old blighty” was a bit of a shock.

A couple of weeks ago I also spent the day in Tilbury with one of my colleagues when we went to visit Cruise and Martime’s  Marco Polo for the day. I was intrigued to see what this 3* product was like and although I was reserving judgement when we first embarked I had certainly warmed to her by the end of the visit. We were welcomed onboard with a glass ( or 2!) of Champagne in Scotts Bar which is situated at the back of deck 9 with a view out onto the teak decks and overlooking the pool situated on deck 8. This is a Bar/ Lounge where entertainment is featured in the evening with a small dance floor and stage.

I was pleasantly suprised at the entertainment venues as along with Scotts Bar there is also the Captains Club and the Marco Polo Lounge.

We had a tour of some of the cabins which vary quite  alot with 15 different catagories in total. The Standard Inside Cabins on the lower decks are quite small ( average 110 sq ft)  and dont have that much storage space but when you come to the Premium Twin Inside the average size is 158 sq ft.

After we had finished the tour of the cabins we had a 4 course  lunch in the Waldorf Restaurant which was most enjoyable and this of course was finished off with the Baked Alaska Parade by the waiters.

Once lunch was finished we were then treated to a show in the Marco Polo Lounge put on by the team of singers and dancers onboard. This was a Rat Pack/Swing type show which was an excellent production and would have been worthy of the shows that you see on the the bigger more classy ships.

All in all a very enjoyable day and I can see why this is a ship that appeals to the older passengers  as its itimate, cosy and has a very friendly feel.
