Alcohol -FAQ

A question that seems to be asked more and more these days is ” can you take alcohol onboard the ship with you”. Well the general rule for this is NO, but there are a few exceptions to the rule. On Celebrity cruises guests can now take onboard 2 bottles of wine/champagne per stateroom on EMBARKATION ONLY but if the wine is consumed in a public area the corkage is $25. ( Best drink it in your cabin!) Alcohol purchased onboard from the Duty Free Gift Shop is not for consumption onboard during your cruise, any such alcohol will be stored and delivered to your stateroom on the last night of the cruise.

Holland America allows Wine and Champagne that has been purchased onboard the ship to be consumed onboard in your cabin, but if it is brought to the bars or restaurants for consumtion then an $18 corkage fee will be charged. As with Celebrity any other alcoholic beverages will be collected for safekeeping and delivered to you stateroom on the last night of your cruise.

So if any of you out there who are thinking of smuggling any alcohol on board, is it really worth it!
