I am very excited and privileged to say that I am off next week for a 10 day escorted tour of China. I can’t actually believe I am going and the fact that it is next week is finally dawned on me that I am actually going and leaving my family behind to have a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget.

The tour is with a company called Wendy Wu who specialise in the Far East and are one of the best land tour operators around. I am sure I am going to experience 5* quality and there have even been whispers of travelling in Business class so if I turn left on the flight it will just be the cherry on top for me as I have never been lucky enough to experience this before.

I will be arriving into Beijing to start my tour and can’t wait to experience the culture and wealth of History that surrounds china. It may be a culture shock at first but I’m sure I will adapt very quickly.

On the tour we are going to be experiencing some fantastic and amazing sights which will include the Tiananmen Square and the forbidden city .We are going to be taking ride on a rickshaw and sampling some renowned local delicacy’s.

Of course I can’t go all the way to China and not experience the Great wall of china. I am so excited about this and imagine it will be quite a strenuous trek but well worth it. I have promised to take sensible footwear as heals may not quite cut it for this trip so walking boots will be well packed along with a rucksack and fleece , not the norm for me !!!

We are then flying to Xian , which means Western Peace and is located on the yellow river. Its famous for the silk road, a passageway which carried silks, ceramics and spices. The Terracotta warriors are also on the itinerary and this is going to be an amazing site to see. I really can’t wait to see them in real life after seeing lots of pictures of them.

After this next stop is Chengdu where we will get a chance to wonder along the back streets and bustling street markets and see the traditional houses. We will also see the spectacular Grand Buddha of Leshan which is the tallest Buddha statue in the world and sits on the side of a mountain.

On the very final day we are off to a famous Chengdu research base of Giant Pandas, which is going to be amazing. We will explore the grounds and get a chance to see some of the Pandas up close and learn about these endangered species.

This is all just a highlight of what the trip entails and I know that every day is going to be action packed and full of amazing sights to behold. I feel so lucky that I am going to experience something like this and will be keeping  a diary so I can give you a  full recap on my return.

China here I come…………
