Does Size Matter?

Now that I have captured your attention and sorry to disappoint anyone but I am referring to Cruise Ships.

Is Bigger Better in the World of Cruise?

bigger-is-better

Size is a very contentious issue.  A lot depends on you as a person and what you enjoy doing whilst on holiday.  Choosing the right ship and I say ship not cruise line as some cruise lines have a range of ships to suit different tastes is the most important part of ensuring you are going to get the most out of your cruising experience.

question mark

Large ships will inevitably have lots more things to do on-board and lots more amenities, but they also have many more people wanting to enjoy those amenities.  Generally speaking these large ships often offer the best prices as well as they have more space to fill. Ships like Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the seas with its 5402 guest capacity or P&O Azura with its 3100 passengers. They offer lots of different dining experiences and on-board activities such as a zip wire, climbing wall, ice skating ring, outdoor theatre and much more.

Small ships on the other hand offer more relaxation, ambience and an opportunity to socialise and talk to fellow passengers and get to know them. More of a community feel if you like. You may have to sacrifice the number of restaurants on-board or not being able to get down and boogie at the Captains party but the discerning guest who prefers this experience is not really worried about all that. Small ships also have the advantage of being able to dock in ports that some of the larger ships cannot go to due their sheer size so this offers cruisers another unique experience. It could be said though that these smaller ships although often more luxurious and quite pricey in comparison to the larger liners.
