I should think that short of GOD nobody could tell you what the weather is going to be like between 27th August and 6th September! Can anybody tell you ACCURATELY what the weather is going to be like in 3 DAYS time, let alone 3 months? I think not! Obviously it will PROBABLY be hot if not dry. Just cater for a normal August at home and you will not go far wrong. All I would say is that, no matter what the weather is outside. Onboard the ship the airconditioning will keep the atmosphere cool and dry! You will seldom be hot on a modern cruise ship. Happy cruising.

Join the Roll Call for this cruise to speak with fellow cruisers - they may offer advise on what to do in port.

Hi we are on the same cruise. We sailed from Southampton on Legend of the seas 2 years ago to the canaries, and Vigo was our last port of call on the way back, which would have been 10th September, weather in Vigo was lovely - very warm. Regarding the airconditioning, I found some of the bar areas to be a bit chilly for me - I did take a light weight cardigan and a light shawl, which came in useful.

As most of my readers and customers will be aware of by now, I became a dad in August last year, and in the last couple of weeks, having had almost a year off work on maternity leave, my wife has gone back to work.As she works in education, her hours are none negotiable, Monday to Friday daytime, usually finishing around 5pm ish. Now, before we had the baby, I had literally no idea the crazy cost of child care! Roughly 50 per day! OUCH!So in an effort to reduce the cost of this down, whilst bo...

The season of the mini cruise.

By Warwick Van Reenen

Warwick Van Reenen's blog

My first cruise was a mini cruise on the new Independence of the Seas in 2009. Well, she was new then! It was during a May bank holiday weekend and a 4 night to Cork and back.It was bank holiday weekend and the ship was filled to capacity. The volume of luggage being manhandled on board the vast family-friendly superliner at Southampton might have suggested we were all embarking on a world circumnavigation rather than a short sailing and this is another bonus of a cruise out of Southampton is...
