Im a Celebrity, Silhouette me out of here.

Celebrity Silhouette returned to Southampton this year and the fabulous Solstice class ship returns in 2019, and when the brand new Celebrity Apex joins her in 2020, its the first time Celebrity cruises will have two ships from the UK’s favourite port. With the advent of our favourite jungle show about to air, will ant be on the menu and holly be  decking the halls ?   Not on Celebrity (note:the Christmas decorations are usually adorning the fleet from 03 December), dining has also come a long way since formal cruising began, but do customers with ever changing tastes really want food that challenges you ?

The menus still are not adventurous enough to feature witchetty grubs or even worse parts of animal and insect anatomy. There are still lots of new dining opportunities you would want to try.

The most out there i could find in Blu, the restaurant adorned by white petal painted walls and massive chandeliers on Silhouette is a dessert of coconut creme brulee with roast pineapple and curry meringue, but this restaurant also has very many low fat and healthy versions of classics.

In Luminae,  Silhouettes restaurant for suite class passengers, there is a magnificent selection of signature dishes, many prepared at the tableside, Lobster tail with truffles and a smoky veloute are the closest i can get to yabbies fresh from the creek !

The closest match with the jungle meals are mainly found in Sushi on 5, the most fierce being the fresh Wasabi, try it if you dare, but with Silk Harvest, the Tuscan Grille and Murano also on board the meals should match in style but not necessarily taste with anything in the Australian rainforest.

Hold on though, dining is still evolving on the high seas, and whispers of a full deck of street food on a forthcoming ship are coming through to us, but with ships as large as the Celebrity Silhouette serving 12,000 meals a day, that is a lot of Ants on Deck !

Celebrity Silhouette sails out of Southampton in 2019 and just now has free classic drinks package and buy one get one half price offers.

Adventure awaits
