My Recent Jolly on Independence of the Seas.

So, I have recently enjoyed a lovely little 3-night break on what has fast become our favourite ship as a family – The Independence of the Seas. A cheeky little bank holiday weekend break over to Zeebrugge and Le Havre, however, it could have sailed anywhere as we didn’t bother getting off! With the UK waving goodbye to Indy at the end of this season, we decided to treat her as a floating hotel and make the most of all of the facilities and have a jolly good time as a family.

The youngest daughter spent more time in Splashaway Bay than she did in the cabin, which says a lot, as she sleeps for about 10 hours a night! The only time she left was for ice cream or if we dragged her kicking and screaming to get some lunch. This freed my soon to be wife and me to lay down on sun loungers and enjoy some really lovely weather.

There were a few differences between this sailing and when we were on Indy last August and they were all for the better, which I did not think possible. On the 2nd night we were onboard there was a champagne reception on the promenade and the waiters were actually walking around with FREE glasses of bubbly, I can’t say I have ever had anything free from a cruise line before!! The promenade ended up absolutely packed which made for a great atmosphere for the “Best of British” show!

We were lucky enough to have a Junior Suite right at the aft of the ship this time around, which offered more than enough space for us 4, although I have to admit, we hardly spent any time in there, there was far too much to eat, drinks, see and do to waste time in our room.

I actually purchased my first ever cruise photo this time around too, but how could I not buy this!!
