A boat full of Sailors and a Scarlet Woman

Virgin voyages have been the talk of the town for months. The maiden voyage is due in 2020 on the ‘Scarlet Lady’ who will sail the Caribbean. Three more ships are already in the pipeline to follow the Scarlet Lady between 2021 – 2023.

What are Virgin Voyages all about? I expect modern, luxury and innovative. Let’s see what we can expect from the new kid on the block.

Richard Branson as said the ‘ships are for young at heart people that want a good time.” They will explore, have adventures and enjoy free-spirited days and nights with not a care in the world’.

The ship will have nine venues including the ‘Wake’ which to me looks totally glamorous and very cool. This venue will offer steak and seafood and will take you back to glamorous NYC.

Another venue that I can totally see myself is the Dock, the lounge area which as a vibe of Ibiza. Here you can sit and enjoy some lunch whilst taking in the stunning views.

I have to say all the venues we’ve had a sneak peek of, all look well designed and offer something for everyone.

What else is there to do onboard? Scarlet Lady’s sailors ( Passengers) can get themselves a tattoo whilst onboard?? The first ever at sea. I think there is a reason for that! Is it just me who thinks this is stupid?

Sir Richard Branson gives a nod to his past with the Voyage Vinyl, an area where you can listen to Vinyl. Also, a shop to buy magazines, headphones etc. It will also double as a venue for the guest DJ’s.

The whole vibe of the ship seems very vibrant, fresh, young and modern. Will this suit everybody’s taste… I don’t think so. Could this attract new cruise customers? I think it will.

The cruising world as so much choice, something to suit everyone. The Scarlet Lady is going to bring even more options for customers which is a fantastic thing. I would personally love to sail with Virgin Voyages.

Great news just in, is that the Scarlet lady will head to the UK from Genoa before she sails to the Caribbean. RB announced this at the recent  Cruise line event in Portsmouth.  He also gave us little more insight into how Virgin Voyages will be different from other cruise lines.

There will be no Buffet onboard, he wants to stop sailors (passengers) from having to leave their suitcase in the corridor the night before disembarkation, WIFI will be included (This for me is amazing!) along with Tea, Coffee, soft drinks and water.

He also said he had a very special godmother lined up but was waiting on her to confirm… I wonder who that will be?!

I’m super excited about Virgin Voyages, from what I have seen and heard I think they will be a great success.

What are your thought on Virgin Voyages?

Lots of Love

Keep Cruising,

Bonnie xx
