    How much duty free allowed !!

    We are going on our first cruise in Sept and i was wondering how much your allowed to bring back ?
    We are traveling with RCCL and doing Italain Med last port is Spain .
    Mainly cigarettes am wanting to know

    Tax paid

    3200 cigarettes
    400 cigarillos
    200 cigars
    3 kg of smoking tobacco
    110 litres of beer
    10 litres of spirits
    90 litres of wine
    20 litres of fortified wine e.g. port or sherry

    So if i buy from the ship its duty free and if i buy from offshore its tax paid is that right

    If you buy on the ship it's duty free only if your ship calls on a non EU port, if you buy ashore in an EU country then it's tax paid and you get the bigger allowance.
    Now think of the weight you have to carry and the luggage allowance around 23kg it can be expensive to pay for the extra.

    It depends where you buy ashore, just make sure you are aware the tax is paid and you have not bought Duty Free ( some ports do still have duty free shops and they will tell you, you can buy unlimited amounts, not true !! ) customs in Southampton will be out in force, especially if you have called at Gibraltar, as a guide you can expect to pay around 35-40 Euros for 200 cigarettes.

    if you buy on the ship be carefull they will be very cheap but it is duty free and you can only bring back 200,if you buy on land still much cheaper than uk in spain,then you can bring 3200 each back,hope this helps
